Re: Hobbit Tales with Toddlers
Cool, I will look for those. Thanks.
(Unfortunately my first attempts at Google searches return almost entirely results from the PJ Films. The films have pretty much polluted all searches related to Tolkien.)

If you write "Tolkien sings" in Youtube, you'll find a few "official" tunes by The Professor himself.
On the other hand, I love some of the PJ films adaptations as well as other ones. Not everything PJ related is bad.

I just got home and my son announced, "Gandalf told me to not leave the path!"

He's about to get lost, then.Glorelendil wrote:I just got home and my son announced, "Gandalf told me to not leave the path!"
Beware!

He will do excellently when he's old enough to actually play "Don't Leave the Path"!Glorelendil wrote:I just got home and my son announced, "Gandalf told me to not leave the path!"

Adventure Summaries for my long-running group (currently playing through The Darkening of Mirkwood/Mirkwood Campaign), and the Tale of Years for a second, lower-level group (in the same campaign).

For song links, here's a playlist of most of the ones from the cartoon film:

And the rest can probably be found here somewhere (the 'Blunt the knives! Bend the forks!' one is the fifth one down):

Rather bizarrely, it's actually "Over the misty mountains cold..." that he likes.Deadmanwalking wrote: (the 'Blunt the knives! Bend the forks!' one is the fifth one down):
I prefer Blunt the Knives, myself.
Thanks for link.

I need to play this with my kids again. It has been a while, but they really enjoy it.
Re: Hobbit Tales with Toddlers
One of my more embarassing Gen Con moments was when a couple of folks wanted to play a round of Hobbit Tales "by all the rules". I had to get T.S. to help me out; we never play by the rules at home (the 7-year-old just quite can't do it yet) and I was stumbling in my recall. He saved the day, of course, but it wasn't my finest 15 minutes.
Glor it sounds like H is really enjoying the story... I've tried the same over the years with limited success, so good on you for making it work! I can't way to hear the next chapter in the story...

YouTube: 'Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold" (Mind's Eye 1979 The Hobbit radio adaptation): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpG0Lh17RCA
This was my favorite version until the release of TH:AUJ. And I still with the special features for that film had included the Company of Thorin singing the song in its entirety.
