Fantasy Grounds game (Fridays 8pm UK)

I'm currently running a game of The One Ring in Fantasy Grounds that has suffered from player attrition. I'm down to two players and I could do with a couple more reliable people to join the campaign so that I can keep it going. The game is using the Fantasy Grounds text chat, which is slower but more immersive than voice chat.

Is anyone interested in joining up? We've just completed the first adventure phase and the company is in Rhosgobel, so now is a good time to join. There are a couple of sessions missing (6 sessions total), but chat logs are up on Google Drive for review if you want to see the play so far.

Such a pity this clashes with my face-to-face gaming. Would like to play TOR rather than (just) GM it at some point in time!

Hi Valarian,

I might be interested. What type of characters do you need?

The current characters' strengths are as Scout and Hunter. Grimarr and Lathspell are the characters I have left, possibly Rathiel if that player's work schedule allows him to continue.

I want to join, but at the moment there is too much else going on. Can I check back in about a months time to see how things are then?

Hi Valarian,

I'd be very keen to join your game if you're still looking for additional players. I've been lurking around the forums for a while; I own the base game and the Rivendell supplement and I'm fairly comfortable with the rules. I'm eventually, when I get round to it, planning on running a game for my regular gaming group. I'm keen to actually play the game first though, get more a feel for it.

The time and date are a good fit for me too.

Lemme know. :)

Yep. Still looking for a couple of additional reliable players. What do you fancy playing? The company is currently at Rhosgobel and heading for the Woodland Realm.

Have you used Fantasy Grounds at all? If not, it would be worth downloading and having a play with it. I can start up the game tomorrow for you if you want to have a familiarisation session. When you start up the launcher you will need to choose Join Game, enter a handle or name, and enter the game alias (infirm ogre cold bard). There is no cost involved, just download the software and install as an unregistered / free license user.

The game uses the text chat, so familiarising yourself with these will be useful:

Looking at the current group, I've been playing about with creating a Scholarly Mirkwood Elf to fill the Lookout role and diversify the party a bit. I've got the character created, just need to flesh him/her out in my mind!

I haven't used Fantasy Grounds at all but I have just installed it. Downloaded it separately from Steam as I wasn't sure if the Steam Demo would work. Looking at the commands, it looks like I should be able to pick it up easily enough. I'm gonna spend some time now fully catching up on the Adventures thus far.

Also thanks for the invitation! :)

Is there anything else you need me to do?
