On page 69 of Tales from Wilderland a place called Enyd Bess is mentioned, does anyone know what this refers to. Sorry if this is something obvious that I'm overlooking. Thanks!

Well, Enyd is one of the plural forms of 'Ent' in Sindarin. The Enyd Bess may be the last place in Mirkwood known to have been inhabited by Ents. Or, it may have been where the Ents of Mirkwood gathered for Entmoot.

You're probably correct in terms of southern Mirkwood, however, my two pence is that they intended for the reference to include the Brown Lands beyond. Recall Treebeard's description to the Hobbits about how the Entwives disappeared when the war passed over their gardens.

The paragraph in question references the Anduin watering the Garden Lands, now known as the Brown Lands, and refers to the Enyd Bess as those who dwelt there. Logically then, Enyd Bess would be the Elvish name for the Entwives.
