Rangers on Patrol

My question is how might Rangers of the North react in certain situations.

If they were to encounter a friendly party, they may divulge that their ancestors once dwelt in the North and they are watching over their ancestral lands.

To a neutral party, maybe that they are simply Rangers traveling the lands of the North.

But, what about a group of of suspicious travelers? Would they respond in police mode by telling them to leave?

What if they encountered a treasure hunter? ( non-Dunedain)?

You might have to adjudicate that on a case-by-case basis. It would probably depend on the specific location and the nature of the Treasure Hunter. Such a character might be driven or escorted away from the ruins of a place such as Fornost or AnnĂºminas, but maybe not even then if the character was a High Elf or made a good enough impression in the encounter.

I think they would overshadowed them before acting (if ever).

Treasure hunting in the ruin of Fornost is akin to go around many keg of powder open with a torch, eye-blinded. A serious warning to tell at the treasure hunter that he is messing up in a really serious business is in fine a compassionate approach for the poor soul :D
