Rings of Power in TOR/AiME?

There was a really good article in an issue of Other Minds about the general powers of the rings (the Dwarven ones were no different) - they had the basic power of preservation - in dwarven hands this meant to help preserve and accumulate wealth, but because Sauron assisted in making them these rings were also Cursed - for Dwarves this meant they gained (or worsened) the Dragon-Sickness Shadow Weakness.

I love that article on the Other Minds. One of my favorites. I have always been fascinated with the Rings of Power and magical rings in Middle Earth in general.

There are many magic rings in the world as Gandalf said but I think introducing the idea to actually find on of the Rings of Power in a campaign is I think kind of a game and canon-lore breaker. I think some stories involving lesser rings would be of more fitting rather than a Ring of Power.
