The weary when reduced to 0 endurance rule is still unofficial right?
I do think it's a good rule and it's almost mandatory when dealing with some creatures. I remember a fight against snow trolls where they repeatedly resisted piercing blow after piercing blow, round after round. It does get very difficult when they have favoured armour and can easily resist injury rating 18 weapons.

I believe Francesco said that creatures with Great Size are considered Weary when reduced to 0 a while back, so it's pretty much official

Spot on, Beleg, he definitely did though I can't find the actual post.

This has come up before and what Francesco actually said was this:

I am thinking about a possible tweak for Great size (in the case it turns out it really needs fixing, that is...).
When a creature with Great size is reduced to zero Endurance or wounded once it becomes weary. Then, the rest is as usual.
This doesn't make the heroes more likely to hit with a Piercing blow, but it makes it likelier that a PB produces a wound.
What do you guys think?
Which as worded, doesn't seem very 'official'.
(We didn't think they needed fixing so we left the trolls/Great Size, as RAW.)
However, with Amado's statement:
1. Wear him out.
First of all, if an adversary with “Great Size” is reduced to 0 Endurance, he will be considered Weary for the rest of the combat. That is, ALL of his rolls will be weaker, including the Protection Tests to avoid a Wound.
it appears to now be 'official', (although he did omit
"or wounded ").

Having the author comment something in a forum does NOT make the ruling official by any standard. Ever. Unless Cubicle 7 publishes it in an official publication (which can be an online PDF for that matter), it is just a house rule. Unless it is a clarification and not something the author made on the fly. As it is now,. it is a house rule;L it might be sensible, but house rule it remains.
Regarding the post, I liked it
it is basically "make him weary and try to score as many piercing hits as possible, so he will eventually fail one" but listing all the diverse options is nice
not just for this case, but for any kind of combat, really.
Cheers
Xavi

It's posing as a solution to a particular problem, but it's actually a great primer on TOR combat mechanics and terminology. I'm new to the game, and although I think I understood the rules from reading them, that post helped solidify the concepts.
(Edited to clarify the portion to which I was responding.)

I was not contesting that. I find the solution quite neat,. actually
What I was questioning is quoting it as an official line answer. It is not, and when it comes to validity it has the same as one posted by any other person online, even if he is the author of the rules and people might give him more credit because of that. But it is still not an official cubicle 7 answer.
Cheers,
Xavi

"When a creature with Great size is reduced to zero Endurance or wounded once it becomes weary. Then, the rest is as usual."
Since this rule hasn't been published in an official TOR supplement, it is still a house rule. We use it in our games, and you are free to use it if you like it.
It may be published officially in the future
Amado.
