I've downloaded it and glanced over it, and it looks very nice indeed (as always)! I'm particularly pleased to see that Masteries have been expanded, as I was hoping for more Virtues -- this isn't quite that, but is perhaps even better.

Also great to have some new cultures: I'm a bit surprised to have Men but not Hobbits of Bree, but the Wild Hobbits are a nice addition. But my favourite bit so far is definitely the section on what it has got in its nasty little pocketses, sss, yes, my precious.

Take a careful look at the entry for the Bree-folk; there's a Hobbit option hiding there.

I've already downloaded and looked through some parts of the Companion. I do take slight exception to the description of the Dwarves of the Blue Mountains:

In the twilight of the Third Age, the Dwarves of the Ered Luin are loyal subjects of the King of Durin’s Folk, as their halls were founded anew when Thráin the Second led his people to these mountains after the destruction of Erebor. His son, Thorin Oakenshield, ruled here for a time and the Blue Mountains became a realm of plenty and peace, drawing wayward Dwarves from as far south as Dunland.

This would only be partly true. There should be many other Dwarves who never left the Blue Mountains, particularly in the southern range (see The Lord of the Rings, Appendix A.I.(iii). "Eriador, Arnor, and the Heirs of Isildur"). Some might be descended from Naugrim of Belegost and Nogrod who never fled east to dwell in Moria; others have dwelt there continuously since the First Age. Such Dwarves might feel they owe no fealty towards Dáin or the Dwarves of Erebor.

There will be a one hour period of grace, where the One Ring team are allowed to enjoy having released a title they have worked on for 3 years. And then you can start ripping it apart.

Oh, very well. Though that was meant as helpful feedback.

Am I the only one that scrolls through looking at the art before anything else? As usual, the art is impressive, no clunkers in the bunch, but I'd like to call out just a few.

The young hobbit watching the fellowship of adventurers on page 16 is amazing. One of my absolute favorites from any of the books.

The Elves of Lorien portrait is excellent.

I love the perspective of the hiding adventurers art on page 49. There's a great 1000 words or more in that picture.

The dancing on page 78 has an ethereal feel.

The Ranger of the North portrait is even better that the Lorien elf. Love the pipe!

On page 113 is a wonderful sketch of a Beorning woman working with bees.

The throne weighs heavy on page 128. That yellow-orange in the background is compelling!

Once again this is a beautiful book C7, congratulations, and well done!
