wrestling and grappling

Post by cynan » Sun Dec 15, 2013 7:21 pm

Hi,

I do not believe that wrestling or grappling covered anywhere in the rules books. I'm under the impression that the dagger skill ought to be used for unarmed attacks and I know that unarmed attacks (like punching and kicking) are mentioned, but there aren't any rules relating to pinning a combatant to the ground without knocking them unconscious are there?

Please do correct me if I am wrong.

Have any of you and your gaming groups dealt with this at all in your games? Do you like your solutions?

No. TOR combat is fairly limited in its options. Using Dagger attack as a catch-all for unarmed attacks pushes and the like sounds fair to me :) Opposite Dagger rolls, if you want to check who wins.

Tales from Wilderland does have rules for a wrestling contest that uses Awe (to intimidate your opponent and impress the crowd) and Athletics. The degree of success on the Awe check basically lends extra dice to the Athletics roll.
