D.O.M : PC's Undertaking out of phase?

Post by GaladrielsHeels » Thu Jan 26, 2017 11:39 am

Hi all

Having read a few times the adventuring phases in DOM, i have a couple of questions regarding 2 adventures in particular :

1.) Secrets Buried

Just wondering if any Loremasters have experienced the fellowship marching off the Thranduils Halls looking for the traitor (Halbrech the wine seller) after finding the parchements in Dol Guldur?

Just saying that if they do, it might make Treachery in the Woods a little tricky to rejig, having confronted or killed Halbrech

2.) Beast of the Forest

Again the fellowship take the initiative and go looking to kill the werewolf after finding the shattered lamp in it's lair. I know only the lamp of Balthi's rays can permanently kill the werewolf but how does the fellowship learn that the lamp can do this?

Thanks in advance

G.H

Interesting timing on your first question, GaladrielsHeels, as just moments ago I started reading through "Treachery in the Woods" for the first time (it will be the next adventure for my players). In my campaign the group played through "Secrets Buried" a couple of years ago, and none of them did anything about Halbrech, even after learning that there is a traitor in Thranduil's Halls.

My group has destroyed the Werewolf before, but never using the Lamp of Balthi. Of course this means the Werewolf then comes back again in a new wolf body shortly after.
Adventure Summaries for my long-running group (currently playing through The Darkening of Mirkwood/Mirkwood Campaign), and the Tale of Years for a second, lower-level group (in the same campaign).
