Query:

Is this two hate loss if:

Opponent has fear of fire AND hate sunlight only (very very few)
Opponent has fear of fire OR hate sunlight (a whole lot more)

And if opponent has both, do they lose 4 hate or just 2? (2 per weakness)

I tend to think players should get the best of it. He spent hard earned XP on that. Also, in the theme of the lantern, does it turn denizen of the dark off?

For me it's "Opponent has fear of fire OR hate sunlight ", and it's always 2 Hate points.

My reasonig is that -like you pointed out- few opponents got both disadvantages. And then I would expect something like "opponents with Fear of Fire lose 1 Hate, opponents with Hate Sunlight lose 1 Hate, those who got both lose 2 Hate".
I'm skeptic about the 4 Hate points interpretation for similar reasons: I think it would be spelled out explicitly (if nothing else because it would be uncommonly powerful)
