I think the best we can hope for with Tharbad is a layout of the ruins. It's been too long since the bridge and city fell to expect a detailed look at how Tharbad appeared when it was still inhabited.

Yeah, Tharbad was fully deserted and in ruins nearly 50 years before the time of The Hobbit. But I would love the area to get a Ruins of the North type of treatment with a series of adventures set there. And since the ruined bridge and the river ford were still used by the Nazgul, spies of Saruman, and Rangers of the North, there could be some interesting encounters there. Also, the city was founded as a Numenorean settlement, and battles were fought around there, so who knows what possible lost Numenorean treasures are there waiting to be found.

Well, yeah. I didn't mean to imply that there might not be adventures set in and around Tharbad. There is still a fair amount of Eriador that hasn't yet been covered by a region guide, though with the lack of settlements in the game's time setting I agree that we might better hope for another adventure supplement or campaign book.

You haven't brought it up, but at this point, I share the opinion that the Shire is likely to get a book of its own like the Bree sourcebook. Such a book might also include Annúminas, Lake Evendim and the Hills of Evendim, maybe even the Tower Hills and White Towers.

I have an issue of remembering just how close or far apart places are in Middle-Earth, and I do not have a map handy, so I went googling to refresh my memory and one of the results is someone on Etsy selling maps of Middle-Earth. I doubt they have the legal right to do that in the US, so is this something that should be reported? And reported to whom? Just looking at the map, I am not sure of the source for it, but here is the item:

I know this post is something that should be deleted from this thread once we figure out what to do with this, so I am not adding any more to the conversation in this post.

So for me overall I would like more books marrying campaigns and settings - like Heart of the Wild and Darkening of Mirkwood. I really appreciated how small suggestive seeds - like Mab the Spinner, or the tired ghost that leads you to the old burned tower - add flavor and depth to the more directed campaign. I think Rivendell and Ruins of the North lacked the connectedness and texture of HoW/ DoM. Overall they had less of a sandbox feel. Which is not to say that I didn't rush out buy them and love them too, I totally did...just not as much. I can't help but think that part of the reason for the richness of HoW and DoM was that they covered areas less restrained by the LOTR storyline.

So I am really excited about Gondor. Because Gondor, while it got a lot of attention was only lightly touched in the text of LOTR, as readers we basically only visited Minas Tirith and Ilthien. That leaves a ton of space for the TOR people to go wild and develop an interesting sandbox and compelling related adventures/campaigns.

And I would like more adventure books - like Laughter of Dragons - than the setting books. For example, I'd love to see the GenCon adventures that I have heard people post about be made available.

But the honest truth is I will buy anything this line puts out. So my personal wish list is MORE. I want MORE.

Well, the places I mentioned along with the Shire (the Tower Hills, Hills of Evendim) are all regions adjacent to it, and I would probably add Sarn Ford and the Old Forest.

I looked at a legit map after searching and did not realize that Tharbad is actually closer to the Misty Mountains and Moria than it is to the Shire. I wonder if they will include it as the outer edges of what the Moria set will cover, since it was not covered in the Rohan books. Actually, I am sort of surprised it was not part of the outer edges of the Rohan material, since Tharbad was rebuilt in the Fourth Age by both Rohan and Gondor. If they had a stake in it at that point, I would have expected their patrols to go that far before the War.

Like Tharbad, I don't think the Elvish ruins in Eregion are deserving of their own sourcebook; however, they could certainly be addressed in the context of an adventure or three!

Whoa. I can't wait, I just am bursting at the seams to see what Gareth is going to give us for Moria. This is a great time to be a Middle-earth fan, and C7 just keeps giving us amazing products!
