We haven't been playing very long, but we tend to get maybe one or two points for each player each session. Some players tend to get a few more, but we have had three fellowship sessions so far and a couple of our members have not gotten enough points to do anything much, while others have.
I don't know if there is an actual average amount, it just depends on how the adventure plays out and how people use their skills, and whether or not they remind me (the LM) to give them points. If they don't say, I tend to not think about doing it
