At this point in my 3 1/2 year campaign, the companions have recently become invloved in the Shadow's plan to destroy Beorn as he is THE preeminent threat in the Anduin Vales on the Western side of Mirkwood. Enough of a serious threat that Sauron has ordered the Lord of the Nazgul to leave Minas Morgal and join the Nazgul in Dol Guldur to confront Beorn and destroy him.
Being major figures in Wilderland, the companions joined with Beorn as some of his most potent allies to confront the Nazgul threat. Beorn has had a child with his spearmaiden Ennalda - Grimbeorn - and it is up to them to protect him from the Nazgul.
Keeping the fight as far away from his manor as possible, Beorn and the companions confronted the Nazgul by the Anduin. In an epic fight against the Shadow, Beorn is wounded by a morgul knife, but the Nazgul are sent fleeing.
The wounded Beorn is taken back to his manor, where it is explained that he has weeks before becoming a servant of the Shadow himself. From previous lore passed on to him, he knows he must be taken to a secret Misty Mountain site of the Adan from the First Age. There he will find answers to avoid this terrible fate.(SPOILER ALERT)
Carried into the mountains by the Great Eagles, who were messaged by a raven of one companion, the companions set camp in this remote refuge.
Beorn then dreamt that he must be taken to the next valley, where there is a mountain in the middle of a lake, to find his destiny. Taken there, the companions discover a cave complex in a small mountain in a lake. Inside, they discover that this is a most holy site, where none other than the Vala Orome(Bema) visits. During a dramatic encounter, Beorn is taken by Bema into a fresh mist within the cave, but then returns soon after to the companions as a great hunting bear of Bema in spirit form. So ended Beorn in my campaign. Grimbeorn will be groomed and protected hereafter in Beorn's Hall.
Upon returning to Beorn's Hall word came to the companions that Viglund had marched south with a warband to destroy Beorns lands and his kin. Viglund and his men, now an ally of Dol Guldur, wear a painted "Flaming Eye" on their shields. Gundabad had sent orcs to join him in the assault under order of Dol Guldur.
The companions had brought the fiercest Beorning warriors from Beorn's manor area(trained and helmeted) north to meet a warband of Beornings led by Black Tom ("Tohmas") from the northern vales (not armoured but fierce, and wearing traditional hair top-knots as is the old fashion of the northerners).
The battle was intense but the Beorning ferocity was too much and Viglund, with his son, Viglar were killed. The orcs were almost completely destroyed, with their chieftain.
Here is the link to the pictures:
This battle is now called The Battle of Skowri's Hill, a Beorning hunter/trapper who fled his home when Viglund drew near. He came to the Beornings who were coming north and he brought them to the Viglundings. He died in the battle as he was first in line to fight for his property. The pictures of men fighting in the copse of trees is Viglund himself fighting a particular hero of the Beornings - Avagis - who was killed in this fight. A tragedy because he was an NPC from 2013.
The rules used are from an online company and named "Open Combat". I have created a conversion ruleset for TOR.

I hope it works.

Awesome report, windsurfjunkie, and I love your pictures. Looks like a very fun game!
