Combat Roles Clarification

Please clarify this for me:

a) You can spènd 1 Fellowship Hope point (and only one) to assign one role to ONE companion, i.e. two companions cannot get the same role.
b) Since you can't spend more than one point, you can assign up to three different roles to three different companions: Captain, Champion, Ward.

Is this all correct?

The Fellowship decides to spend 1 point, and then they can assign all 3 roles to 3 different companions.
