Non-Combatant PC?

Would a player need house rules to play a character who refuses to engage in combat due to the PC's personality (pacifist, scared of death, non confrontational)? Has anyone attempted this? I could easily imagine a gardening Hobbit with a thirst for wisdom and adventure, but a distaste for killing and a fear of death. I could also see a Wayward Elf choosing rigid pacifism out of principal. What are your thoughts?

Not really. The Defensive stance can be narrated as dodging and weaving, hiding in cover, etc.
The Enhearten Comrades acton from Open Stance can be used on song, as well.

Speaking of inconvenient personalities and traits, I found a cool site that lists random dysfunctional quirks your PC can have. I think it would be fun to combine a few of these to give your character some...character. I haven't seen these types of traits played out much in the TOR play throughs ive tried or listened to. Sounds like a fun way to play.

Or you could just, you know, not get into fights.
