Yes, I recall that, now that you mention it. So, the Rohirric Eärn could be rendered as 'The Eagle' in Westron, lending support to the notation in Horselords of Rohan. I'm sure that Aragorn's appellation in Rohan was a factor in the coining of the later name of 'Thorongil'. The 'Star' in Thorongil comes from the star-shaped brooch that he wore (which becomes Cultural Heirloom the Star of the Dúnedain from the Rivendell sourcebook).T.S. Let me emphasize this is TS talking and completely unofficial - I postulate the Eorlingas would've actually called Aragorn "Eärn". He notes that he wore "many different names" in his travels. Eärn means "Eagle" in Rohirric. Thorongil as many of you doubtless know, means "Eagle of the Star". It beggars belief that the Ecthelion, who was friends with Thengel, wouldn't have known that "Eärn" had served with him.

"Far, far below the deepest delvings of the Dwarves, the world is gnawed by nameless things. Even Sauron knows them not. They are older than he."
Re: Oaths of the Riddermark
Do we know anything about a release date for 'Oaths...'?
Re: Oaths of the Riddermark
OK, so I admit, I am a bit confused. Is Bree coming out before oaths?

Bree is open for preorder right now.

Right, but I swear I already pre-ordered Oaths at my FLGS... Hmm, I must be remembering something wrong.
