[Friday Fun] Name the Strongholds!

Bit of fun (?) for you all...

I'm working on building up a collection of 3d terrain (mountains, settlements, etc) for the War of the Ring board game, which I'm sure as Tolkien fans you've heard of and could own. I'm also sourcing miniatures to replace the figures as well - a mix of 15mm for the armies and 28mm for the principal good/evil characters. Big project, silly amount of work, but should look awesome.

Anyway, I picked up some strongholds for the game and got them painted but I've been having trouble naming/identifying some of them* so thought you all could help.

Here are the pictures:

And here's a list of what the strongholds are:

Morannon
Dol Guldur
Umbar
Moria
Minas Morgul
Mount Gundabad
Barad Dur
Orthanc
Erebor
Woodland Realm
Dol Amroth
Helms Deep
Minas Tirith
Grey Havens
Lothlorien
Rivendell
Mount Doom

Tie break: and what is the mini shown in the pics that is not on the above list?

Winner: receives my eternal gratitude and maybe a beer if I ever meet them.

* That's not entirely true but I thought it could be fun.

Actually, there is a serious question to this: the coastal strongholds aren't immediately obvious to me which should be which so I wanted to get a range of opinions. Just asking that sounds boring though!

Bag End is missing.

As to which is which, I was going to answer but the more I looked at them the more convinced I was that one or possibly two are painted wrong. I'll give it a go.

1st pic left to right
1 Erebor
2 Dol Amroth
3 Mt Doom
4 Morannon
5 Moria

2nd pic left to right

6 Barad Dur
7 Bag End
8 Rivendell
9 Minas Tirith
10 Minas Morgul (Not sure on the paint job, is that water)
11 Helms Deep

12 Mr Gundabad
13 Dol Guldur
14 Orthanc
15 Grey Havens
16 Lothlorien
17 Umbar
18 Woodland Realm (although that is not the usual depiction of it)

Note# Minas Morgul and Umbar might be the other way around..... No I think I have it right.

War of the Ring is a great game. All Tolkien fans should have a copy.

Interesting... I don't think either of the two attempts are wholly correct, but they are (far) more right than wrong.

Indeed! I've just undercoated the 3d mountain ranges I'm using and have some more miniatures for landmarks and other settlements that aren't classed as strongholds.

Also, I'm playing with the ideas of building a larger 3d board but that would be... ... insane. Although *really* awesome.

The trick is the defining features put in the book. Dol Amroth is mentioned as having cliffs as a distinctive feature and Umbar has a harbor of enclosing rock with a tall building with a crystal top... I could be wrong, but I'm pretty confident on most of my list

Haha, yes. You'd listed them how I had. The two I weren't sure about were which one should be the Grey Havens and which should be Umbar:

Still not 100% sure.

17 is Minas Morgul?

Are you sure?
