Dropping Weapons

Post by Grey Seer » Thu Jun 01, 2017 5:08 pm

OK, I can't seem to find anything in the rulebook on this... But I might be missing something.

Can a character decide to just drop a weapon and no longer carry it?

Can I drop my Woodsman's axe and pick up a second spear (you know, my work spear and my formal spear 😉)... OK, a throwing spear and a fighting spear. ?

It's probably not covered by a rule because none seemed necessary. If you want to stop carrying a weapon I don't see any reason why you shouldn't as long as it's noted on your character sheet. If you want two spears, have a sheath or quiver for one that is strapped so you can sling it across your back or hang it on your mount if you have one. Heck, maybe you should carry them both that way.

However, if you are not simply replacing a lost or damaged weapon then your Loremaster might require that you purchase it like any other piece of additional gear. I would think that an ordinary Spear would be well within your standard of living; a Great Spear might require a roll if your SoL is less than Martial. And I would suggest not completely abandoning your Woodman's Axe, just pack it away with the rest of your tools (on your pony if you have one) and pull it out when you need to chop wood.

Feel free to drop anything, as long as you dispose of it at a designated litter bin, not in the middel of Mirkwood. We dont want adventure garbage in our forest!

Also, remember not to reduce fatigue from encumbrance until after a nights rest...

The elves even have a special cleaning force deployed at the Elven Path! The increase in traffic has also meant an increase in garbage. People always use the same excuse: "I can't find the rule that allows me to pick up my stuff again! What skill should I roll?!"
