TOR Player Finder?

I'm aware of the player finder over at RPG.net and Nearby Gamers, but is there a nest of Tolkien junkies lurking about in the quagmires of the interwebs who are looking for games?
I'm specifically looking for meatsack gamers in Sydney, Australia, but figure a TOR Player Finder wouldn't be a bad thing anyway.

Would it be of use if we set up a separate board under The One Ring category, specifically for finding other TOR players? I'm imagining threads could be started with your location and what kind of game you're looking for.
Now, we've discussed splitting the TOR forum before to help sort discussions, and the jury is still out on that one. So let's not get into that now. An additional forum for finding games and fellow players would be a very "clean" and straightforward thing to add.
Thoughts?

There was a thread on this very topic on the old forum, but I can't recall the title

I would agree on both a player finder for TOR and for giving it a separate section in the forums. I would love to find a group, too, I made the experience however that in more general forums like RPG.net you don't find gamers for non-mainstream RPGs...

A separate board for finding players sounds great. I don't think splitting the current board up into subcategories would be of much use to me, personally. I tend to just hit the "view new posts" button for any given forum, so it wouldn't make any difference.

Let's not open that can of worms in this thread - if the player finder board is popular we can get it set up right away. Discussions of splitting the board any further is one for another day, and much more complex a task involving a lot of work. So let's leave that for now.

Alternatively just have a sticky post at the top of the current TOR board would do the trick.

Jon, You might consider a single Player Finder forum with sub-forums for all the C7 lines.
Alternatively that might be too complex.
The One Ring G+ Community is another place to find people and, as it's G+ Hangout games are particularly relevant. For other C7 lines there are at least two Communities covering D100 games that fit Laundry and World War Cthulhu in addition to non-specific genre RPG Communities covering geographical areas and global interests.
I know of several FB pages covering specific C7 games or rule systems as well.

I've been trying to play on the other side of the board, as a player

This is a great idea Jon & I believe it will be very useful.
Should you post it here within the ToR forums, it probably will attract more gamers who prefer this system.
If it's too much work, however, & causes board splitting or other people (justifiably) want the same for their games, I certainly understand your reluctance.
