I really don't have any big concern over this, and I'll be just fine whatever the truth of the matter is. I'm not trying to be confrontational; I just see some intellectual self-deception going on here.

As ever, you're actually super confrontational here. "intellectual self-deception"? That is a really nasty way to relate to people.

Serious answers:
We did know the etymology. You can't do the kind of work we do without knowing this stuff. The placement of archers in Archet was more of a forest/hunters/bows/Robin Hood thing.

Comments prior to this are just light-hearted jokes: Francesco especially really knows his linguistics stuff, and checks everything over, and Gareth who wrote Archet is certainly no slouch on this front either.

This kind of thing is a perfect example of why I will never write for any RPG ever again. It just really isn't worth the effort. Kudos to all the guys and girls that do; you a far more patient, calmer and genuinely nicer than I could ever be.

I thought it was a case of sharing of ideas, putting forward alternative ideas or suggestions for something that really wasn't all that serious a problem.. I didn't realise it was a case of being judged. Makes you a little wary of saying anything to be honest, especially in light of the fact its only trying to help by offering other ways of seeing things.

Me too.

Although, in Stormcrow's defense (not that you need it, though), I think that if his comment had come up in the first place around a table with some beers and snacks, no one would have felt offended. Not by him, not by our following answers or comments.

I think that's all regarding Archet and archers. In the end, I was right  .

Well then that's good to know, and I'm sorry everybody thinks this was meant to be confrontational.

Cheers SC. That is welcomed; even if not directed at me I still got upset by it so appreciate you stating this.

I hope you reconsider, Rich. You are one super-talented individual!

Just started diving into Bree. I love it. My hat's off to all who worked on it. Thanks again for a great addition to TOR.

lol yes you were right, well the beauty of roleplaying is we are all right in our own silly little gaming worlds, at our own tables :)

And I agree with you about the 'conversation around the table' scenario totally
