I just want to echo Polishwoodman above and state that this is an excellent supplement. Both the adventures and the gazzetter section are really good. Everyone associated with this can be proud of themselves. Bravo!

i'm really starting to think about a big campaign about Shire & Bree, with much more "mundane" heroes and lower stakes (from the whole MiddleEearth point of few), where journey to the next village can be a real adventure and meeting with a stranger from afar may change your life and open your eyes.
Feel free to look over my own Guide to the Shire to see if it would be of use to you. I'm also interested in seeing where it can be improved. The section on Bree-land has become redundant and I've decided to delete it.

I adhere myself to the compliments by Polishwoodman and Finrod Felagund:

Great, great, job. I'm beginning to like a lot this local in-depth supplements, like Erebor. They really manage to capture an essence and give you as LM lots of links to work with.

In fact, although we know that as players we love to travel the world, the usual middle-earth adventures should be more local. At least, it is very interesting to be able to begin a campaign with some short-range adventures, that little by little expand into the wide world outside.

With the adventures from Bree, it might be interesting to tie the Big Villain to either Saruman or Sauron/The Witch King/Angmar Reborn in some way, so that the heroes would have the itch to know more from the Rangers about what was going on with those fellas they just defeated. And the Rangers would sit with them, and talk about Angmar, and the lost kingdom of Arnor, and of how Rivendell lies to the east and its Master is always looking for true-hearted people to fight a secret fight against the Shadow...

Hi guys!

i just want to say I'm hugely impressed by this suplement. it's one thing to explore "cool" regions and cultures and another to squeeze the essence from place like Bree and give it its own vibe, very true to Tolkien's spirit. That's a remarkable job and shows your true devotion and respect to MiddleEarth. i won't lie if i say i'm touched and moved ;)

I'll pass these kind words on to Gareth and Francesco right now, in case they aren't reading this deep into the thread. Thank you!

I'll join the pig-pile of agreement on this one. I only just got around to ordering/downloading this and it's great. I'd love to see more supplements that focus on small locales and combine regional resources with short adventures.

One thing that surprised me: I'd always imagined the buildings in Bree being packed in more snugly inside the hedgerow. What are the text references on this, or is it open to interpretation?

Tolkien's own map. Bree in Tolkien's imagination is really quite a bonkers place.

Usually Strange as News from Bree, which reminds me of an old newsletter produced by a friend of mine back in the 70's and 80's, Hartley Patterson.

So i know this is probably a silly question, but how good is the Bree supplement? I haven't been on here for a few months and logged on to see 'Bree is available'. I didn't even know C7 was doing Bree!! I'm intrigued now!!
