Thanks Jack!
I've inspired my palette in TOR illustrations, I think it works pretty well for Middle-earth.

My latest, it's meant to be a militiaman from Esgaroth in the War of the Ring period.

The red dragon emblem on the shield is really cool and appropiate. Good work!

Haha, very funny farina! And that is AMAZING Arthadan! You've done incredible paint work on your miniatures, very inspirational. I am just starting to purchase the Games Workshop miniatures for this game ... my poor bank account

Well, I have recently been wanting to have miniatures that are less based on the movies and are far more book accurate. Some of the
Gripping Beast ranges seem to work for various Mannish factions such as using Saracens (especially Mounted Saladin) for the Haradrim, Varangian Guard for the Variags of Khand (since I think of them as Northmen mercenaries who are the elite forces of Khand) and so forth. I also think the Viking Age and Age of Arthur lines seem to fit quite well with Middle-Earth. Sadly, Games Workshop
Lord of the Rings seems to have the best line for Dwarves and Hobbits. I have yet to find decent replacements for Elves, since danged near every miniature line nowadays simply apes Jackson's vision of Elves with sabres instead of regular swords....

I liked the post from Evening that has the figure from
Conquest Games. Because I used my friends miniatures, I had no idea of that there were a lot of different vendors. The medieval norman archers look amazing. When I get around to painting some I will post some pics. Although I must say that I am much less talented at painting these things than you guys. I think I have painted two of them in my lifetime and that was a very long time ago.
Cheers,
Kurt
