I rather thought the new hefty region guide was going to be Moria and Lorien because of the two hefty hints Jon dropped in the subsequent posts about Balrog's wings and Elves pointy ears - but as usual, everyone just decided this was an excuse to post their personal views on these two contentious subjects instead of picking up on his not so subtle pointer :o)
Damn you're much cleverer than me. I'll note that down for next time.

(Bwahahaa this is perfect misdirection - people who are aching to broadcast their opinions always assume they are the smartest guy in the room, so will be too busy with the assurance that their internal narrative is correct to notice anything!)

(Or is this a triple bluff? Yes, actually it is. Never mind.)
Triple bluff indeed Mr Hodgson...............very tricksy

Jon is in a punchy mood today. I picture him giggling at his desk...

I hear that.

Heck, he's probably tickled at our responses. I know I'm going to burst waiting for their next few releases. :)

I'd love a region guide that covered "the South". I.E. Gondor, the outlands (Lossarnach, Dol Amroth, etc), the Druadan Forest, and at least touched on Umbar and Harad.

I'd like to see the Woses as a playable culture, but would especially like to see the Corsairs of Umbar and the Haradrim.

We've already seen a group that was just "bad guys" in the books get player culture treatment in the form of the Dunlendings, and there wasn't much source material to draw from for them either.

A variant Culture for Gondor could be the loyalists (Rebels?) of Harondor (south of the Anduin's delta). And we have the Knights of Dol Amroth, the Rangers of Ithilien, the commoners of the Southern Fiefs, and the citizens of Pelargir. Not to mention, not just the Woses of the Druadan Forest, but their cousins: the Drúedain that inhabited Enedwaith and the Cape of Andrast. And we finally have several Mannish ports for sea voyages. Gondor should be very rich territory for players of TOR.

Playing in two campaigns with each character being a hobbit, I've gotta say I am seriously hoping that the new region guide is about The Shire.
