Thanks for the report Marco, which I found very enjoyable. I particularly liked the Hobbit going off to write the definitive guide to cooking Mushrooms - it's details like that which raise TOR above the average  .
You're welcome! I can't take credit for the mushroom bit. That was all Susie, our Hobbit player.

On the topic of GenCon, I'll be at the Pelgrane booth (1317) most of the con. Always happy to talk TOR and enthuse about Tolkien.
Can't wait! Hopefully, I won't be so nervous that my knees give out and I end up jibbering on the floor.

Your dedication, thoroughness, and love for Middle Earth, in developing such a campaign, will last in the memories of all involved forever. Congratulations! I like how the Hobbit and a Dwarf were the central figures in the end, saving everyone, and how each player had to recount the last months of your campaign. It is really cool hearing on this site everyone's last sessions for the Wilderland campaign. Amazing stories!

My campaign of the same duration will end this fall, but with a different narrative in that the taking of the Greydelve will be the climax (Battle of Five Armies Redux). The Lamp has already been taken to Thranduil and the Woodmen holdings all but lost. Beorn has died and become immortal through Orome in the MIsty mountains. I will use minis in a battle with a huge handmade scene of the Greydelve box-canyon to do this; it has been two years in the making.

Salut!
M.

Fantastic recap, Beckett! Thanks for sharing it with us, and congrats on finishing the epic Darkening of Mirkwood!

Your conclusion was so exciting that I was on the edge of my seat reading it! 8-)
Adventure Summaries for my long-running group (currently playing through The Darkening of Mirkwood/Mirkwood Campaign), and the Tale of Years for a second, lower-level group (in the same campaign).

Amazing! Great finale to your game and congrats for playing it through to the end. I've been LMing The One Ring since the slipcase edition came out too, and still going strong, at first me just making up my own adventures then playing through Tales from Wilderland and now Darkening of Mirkwood. We did have a couple of long breaks, issues with my health, but we have just finished the Siege of Black Tarn Hall, and are now in the first adventure of Ruins of the North.

I often wonder what will happen in the adventures to come, and the DoM finale, hopefully it will be as epic as yours. It's always great seeing the Fellowship evolve and grow over time and then pass the torch to a new generation of adventurers.

Of course there will be more adventures to come, with region mini-campaigns and the remaining decades leading to the War of the Ring. I can't wait to see what the future of The One Ring will bring.
