Heh. Still faster to homebrew it.

I think we might as well save ourselves time and homebrew it. That's a task we can finish. Convincing the Tolkien estate their Silmarillion material should be officially published is not.
Or wait for copyright expiration...
Unfortunately as long as the Disney Corporation have the US legislative branch in their back pocket we can expect to see copyright being extended ad finitum to ensure no loss of Mickey revenue to that august body.

Well, we're allowed to tell you at least this much (Andrew confirmed in an email), but some of us are now writing official adventures for TOR. That's all we can say but our involvement will likely form part of the announcement when it comes. Trust me when I say that the guys at C7 do have lots of plans. I'm not privy to them all but we need to all be patient as things are being worked on.

Sorry, that's all we're allowed to tell you for now. No PMs please, I really can't spill any more beans on this, much that I'm bursting to! ;)

This is very encouraging Rich, thank you for sharing. Many of us are frustrated with the lack of information and releases, but your post gives (me at least) some comfort to see what the future brings.

Good to hear Mim. Just hang in there, I'm sure something is really close to being announced! Not sure when that will be but I'm dead excited about it! :)

And, imho, not telling too much is the right move.
It's better than telling plans or a release date too early and then failing to accomplish it.
I guess we all know RPG authors, and especially RPG authors writing for something like the middle earth, are passionate and that they will do as much as they can. So all we can do is be patient and supporting them (and telling them when they screw someting, but it hasn't happend yet with TOR).

One the other hand, I too ameager to see what's waiting for my players in Eriador. ^^

Please don't let the announcement be we ran into licensing issues, when it comes.

That's great news, Rich! As Mim said, thanks for sharing this. I really enjoyed reading what you did with "Journey's End" and look forward to seeing what you and others come up with. There's such a wealth of gaming experience and Tolkien lore amongst the folk on these forums that I'm sure the results will be impressive - and worth waiting for!
