Yes there is!

Elve: a form of electrical discharge that is emitted upward from the top of a cumulonimbus cloud during a thunderstorm and that usually appears as a very short-lived reddish circle of light. The plural form of elve is elves. ;)


Sounds like something Tolkien might have used to describe a storm in one of his books. The Storm Ents playing with the elves - or some such.

Fair enough, but I'd like to see an elve hit a sparrow's eye with an arrow at fifty paces!
