This has been an awesome read so far ladies and gents. I've really enjoyed reading about people and their (heavily summarised) gaming history. Thanks for posting!

- How old are you and how many years have you been gaming?
I am 42, knocking on 43! I have been gaming 20+ years.

- What RPG did you first start with?
D&D 2nd Edition

- What kind of games have you played in the past?
Dark Ages Vampire, Hunter:The Vigil, D&D 2nd, 3rd, 3.5 and 4th (for 4 months only), Marvel Superheroes, Marvel Heroic Roleplaying, Pathfinder, Fate games at Gen Con.

- Have your preferences changed over the years?
Yes, I was D20 most of my life and then I just got tired of all the crunchy rules and leveling up bits. I wanted more of the story based mechanics. I really dislike D20 like games now, so have been checking out a lot of others.

- What RPGs are particularly memorable or do you hold close to your heart?
Pathfinder because of my best friend being a great DM. Dark Ages Vampire gives that feel I love in a horror game and then Marvel Heroic Roleplaying... I never felt more like a superhero than I have in that game!

- What's your all time top 5 (RPG)?
1. TOR (though I have not had a change to run it or play it yet!)
2. Marvel Heroic Roleplaying

5. Hunter: The Vigil (White Wolf)

- What's your all time top 5 (Supplement)?
1. Lake-Town -TOR

You know, looking at the ages on this thread it's making me wonder whether RPGs could be in for a little boost in interest. If many of us have had kids in our 30 or 40s then recently (and over the next few years) we may well be introducing them to RPGs for the first time. If they enjoy it as much as we do, then that's a whole new generation of gamers that could pick up the hobby. I'm sure it won't be in the same numbers as when the original D&D craze hit but we could see a healthy uptake in the hobby. It'd be a nice thing to see.

I lost count. I'm either turning 42 this year or 43.

D&D classic pink box set.

- What kind of games have you played in the past?
Basic D&D, AD&D, Boot Hill, MERP, Gamma World, Twilight: 2000, Paranoia, Champions, DC Heroes, Robotech, Doctor Who (FASA), Star Frontiers, Star Trek (FASA), Star Wars Saga Edition, D&D 3.5, Pathfinder, The One Ring. At my age, I'm sure I'm forgetting a game or two.

- Have your preferences changed over the years?
Yes. I enjoy the collaborative story-telling aspect of Role-playing, the crunchy bits are less interesting to me now. I do not focus on game mechanics at the expense of role-playing.

- What RPGs are particularly memorable or do you hold close to your heart?
Gamma World, because I do love post-apocalyptic settings. For that reason, I must add Twilight: 2000 -- The rules are a hot mess of record-keeping and very simulationist-heavy, but this didn't bother me as a teenager. If I were to play this game today, I would keep the setting and ditch the mechanics. In grad school I dusted this game off and used the D20 modern rules. If I were to play again, I'm not sure what system I would use now though. The game closest to my heart now is The One Ring.

3. Paranoia (we played this in a Logan's Run type world back in the 80s. Fond memories.)

1. The Darkening of Mirkwood (TOR)
2. Heart of the Wild (TOR)
3. Forgotten Realms (D&D - I loved this box set when it first came out.)
4. The Free City of Krakow, Pirates of the Vistula, and Return to Warsaw (highly-detailed sandbox setting/scenario material for Twilight: 2000)
5. Dragonlance (D&D)

I am looking forward to getting The Great Pendragon campaign. If I had it already, it would have made the list.

Also, I have a soft spot in my heart for The Keep on the Borderlands adventure that came with my D&D basic set and the Slaver series of modules (A1 -A4).

- How old are you and how many years have you been gaming?
I'm twenty-five, Unofficially I've been gaming for around ten years now, but I've actually played establish games the last three or four.

- What RPG did you first start with?
My friends and I would make our own pen and paper games with our own systems, basing them on various video games we'd played. Officially, I tried DnD 3.5 years ago but didn't understand it.

- What kind of games have you played in the past?
Homebrew, Pathfinder, 3.5, World of Darkness, Dark Heresy, Mutants and Masterminds, 7th Sea, TOR (obviously)

- Have your preferences changed over the years?
We started out trying to make games that simulated many aspects of life, as well as the fantastic elements. Then we went into more crunchy complicated things and attempted to create some very complex wargames which failed miserably. Enjoyed Pathfinder/3.5 for the last few years but that enjoyment has waned as I've found the system too restrictive for what I'm looking for and there's just too much crunch for me most of the time. Now I'm looking for laid-back cinematic systems, like this!

- What RPGs are particularly memorable or do you hold close to your heart?
The One Ring is certainly close to my heart already. Been a Tolkien fan since I was a teenager, and I've been looking for a game that really captures the feel of Middle-Earth for years now.

- What's your all time top 5 (RPG)?
I don't know enough games to have a top five, honestly.
1. TOR
2. Yggdrasil (for the setting, I'm a sucker for anything Norse-esque)
3. 7th Sea (Viking who calls snowstorms from nowhere? Yes please!)
4. World of Darkness (Don't like vampires a whole lot, but I love the system)
5. Pathfinder (I know it well and it's easy to tweak for homebrew settings)

- What's your all time top 5 (Supplement)?
I've not used enough supplements to have a list, really.
