On the "feat" table, shouldn't the name associated with the Gandalf rune be "10?"

Otherwise, it's all working great for me. There's no way I could have set this up without help!

Could do with a reverse of this one. Roll Feat twice and keep lowest.

We had our first session of the One Ring on Roll20/G+Hangouts tonight and thanks to the sterling efforts of StuartJ, Valarian, Elf Crusher and Steven Collins we fine tuned the macros and had them working pretty well by the end of the session.

An update to the Roll20 One Ring wiki has been published with updated macro code allowing for the skill name to be input as well as the number of success dice to be rolled. This change makes it easier for the LM to distinguish which result applies rather than relying on just the player or character name.

We have one page set up with a copy of voidstate's Travel mat and a second with his Combat Stance mat. It's easy to pull tokens from the list of characters on the Journal tab directly on to the appropriate mat. I used a lmfeat table in place of the players feat table described in the wiki entry with the values for the Eye and Gandalf runes transposed so that the totals for the Adversaries are calculate correctly.

Next up is a thorough review of the various options for different die rolls to make sure we've covered all the bases.

I'm thinking of ways to automate more of the work for Adversaries rather than plain tokens which don't allow for much customisation. I suspect that only by making them variant characters in Roll20 will allow the flexibility to operate correctly.

I found a Hints and Tips document that told me how to set up a token that will pull stats from a character in the Journal without making changes when Endurance is reduced in combat so that hordes of orcs can now pour forth to do battle. The tokens also have quick combat buttons associated with them to roll their dice and take the switched Eye and Gandalf rune values into account. This makes an LM's job very easy if you do a little prep before a session to set up base creatures and after a few sessions you should have many of the TOR creatures already in place.

The options for on-line gaming with live players via FGII or Roll20 or even plain Skype or G+ are now beyond what we thought possible when playing Zork in the twisty passages, all alike, on the mainframe. No one should complain about not finding a group locally unless they only have dial-up access to the 'net.

I wish you hadn't brought that up. Now whenever we are in twisty passages I'm going to worry about getting eaten by a Grue. (c.f.: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=967.) Guess I'll let the dwarf go first.

Can you explain the procedure for setting it up that way?

... or better yet amend the Roll20 TOR wiki page, whether simply with a link to the Hints and Tips document, or adding some TOR-tailored setup notes. :)

It frustrates me to no end that you can't just copy these settings/customizations between users and campaigns. I'm going to have to manually do all the same steps for my own campaign. I assume it's because of IP/Copyright concerns, but still. They should let you export your settings as an ASCII string; if users want to email each other their setup that should be their business.
