I've been mulling over your observations about the films, especially in terms of Galadriel's passing the test. You raise a good point about the audience & the concept behind the Noldor's rebellion.

BTW, I'm usually a curmudgeon about film adaptations , but I love that scene in Ralph Bakshi's version. IMHO, he really captured that sense of temptation & her rejection, & I love her reaction when Frodo offers her the ring
