Inspired by old memories and Certain Other News:
In the year 2952 of the Third Age, a crack team of the guardians of Imladris were convicted of a crime that they did not commit* and sent to a secure cell in Rivendell. They promptly escaped, and now wander the Wild as heroes of fortune. If you have a problem, no one else can help, and you can find them, maybe you can hire the A(ragorn)-Team!

* It was actually Bilbo, on a visit, who took those cookies out of Elrond's cookie jar.

The twins, Elladan and Elrohir, are in fact a single person with double personality. He's real name is Murdock.
And there's a grumpy bearded dwarf in the team that doesn't like to fly on Eagles. Mountain Ambassador (M.A. for short) Barracus.

The White Rider, a shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a Wizard who is not a Man. Gandalf Mithrandir, an old loner on a crusade to champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless, the powerless, in a world of Shadows who operate above the law.

The Last Alliance was our last, best hope for peace.
It failed.
But in the year of the War of the Ring, it became something greater: our last, best hope – for victory.
The year is 3019 of the Third Age. The place: Minas Tirith.

That’s almost not fair, as Babylon 5 was ripping off Tolkien so hard it hurt (sometimes).

Frodo: Where am I?
Nazgûl: On the riverbank.
Frodo: What do you want?
Nazgûl: The Ring.
Frodo: Which side are you on?
Nazgûl: The other bank. We want the Ring... the Ring... the Ring...
Frodo: You won't get it.
Nazgûl: By hook or by crook, we will.
Frodo: Who are you?
Nazgûl: The Nine.
Frodo: Who is your lord?
Nazgûl: You are the slave of Sauron.
Frodo: I am not a slave! I am a free hobbit!
Nazgûl: [laughs]

More obscure:
A man lore-wise, old but not handsome. A man with the brightest of futures. A man with the darkest of pasts. From Mirkwood’s deepest recesses, to the rarefied peaks of the Misty Mountains, heir to his own legacy and the world's darkest mysteries. Radagast, master of the secrets that divide man from animal, animal from man!

Long ago in a distant land, I, Sauron, the shape-shifting master of darkness, unleashed an unspeakable evil. But a foolish elvish warrior wielding a magic spear stepped forth to oppose me. After the final blow was struck, a Númenórean took my magic ring, and it was lost until the future where my evil is regrowing. Now the fool's descendants seek to return to my land and undo the future that is Sauron.
