I'd love to, although I think Lorien would be beyond the scope of a box named "Moria".
But they did make a book called Rivendel, and that was not just the hidden valley!
I want Lorien, Misty Mountains and Ost-en -Edhil...
But I also want Moria in great detail with lots of add ons like undergrund travel, Eye of the deep rules, demon adversaries and so on... So will there be enough space for additional regions?

I love traps conceptually but rarely if ever are they implemented well. The Angry DM has a good piece on why they are problematic.

Yes, yes indeed. I would like to know some of the things gnawing at the roots of the mountains. Odd corners of Moria seem a good place to encounter new beasties.

That’s why I was thinking about traps as hazards. But perhaps the great minds of C7 will have a new and wonderful take on traps. You never know :o

I was thinking of this, too.
We know the Balrog and the Watcher, but there is room for some other "big boss" for Balin and the Fellowship to vanquish during the campaign

I quizzed Dom at Dragonmeet yesterday and failed my Persuade roll to elicit more information as he's pretty tight-lipped. I asked (in the seminar) about maps for Moria (would we get stuck with a load of battlefield maps for the AiMe section of the box rather than some beautiful and evocative illustrations of the halls of Durin) but he would not be drawn (but at least it's given him something to think about). SImilarly I probed for a time scale on release, again he would not be drawn to expostulate beyond mid year. My bet is a release at GenCon for maximum impact.

I also probed for anything concerning a new relationship with the Tolkien Estate (sensing perhaps a chance to get a scoop about The SIlmarillion for TOR). Again he resisted my blandishments with a strange smile on his face. You guess is as good as mine regarding any future relationship there.

So nothing new to report, just more speculation.

Who would have constructed/set the traps in Moria? To the dwarves it was a living city/kingdom/mine and I don't set traps in my house, except for mice maybe. To the later orcs it is their dwelling and not commonly attacked or even visited by outsiders.

The Dwarves made two expeditions to orc-infested Moria. One was a military disaster, and one was Balin's ill-fated colonization attempt. Gandalf and Aragorn snuck through once each. The Fellowship went through. No reports of traps, although it seems well within the character of orcs to set traps if they know someone is coming. Grimtooth's must never be allowed to fall into goblin hands.

I would think that structural instabilities, holes in the floor, falling ceilings, etc would be a not uncommon hazzard in Moria at present. Much, if not most of it seems to lie empty and abandoned. Even teh orcs who live their aren't doing upkeep on all of it.

Why might Moria-orcs set traps?
- Rivals (from without or within); including protection against assassination.
- Protecting individual hoards from pilfering.
- Nameless things in the Deeps.
- Intruders, whether filthy, sneaking Dwarves or strange, mysterious creatures that steal goblin-imps.

Maybe we could build some prototype goblin traps and get Dom and Jon to help us "test" them. While we're at it we could ask them more questions about Moria and other future releases...

It could even be a competition, best trap design gets in the book.

This is perhaps the most exciting product being created for a rpg in a decade. The potential is enourmous.

As for what the box should contain, I'm not interested in trinkets like dice, cards, tiles and whatnot. This would only clutter the box and be next to useless for me.

No, give me an epic campaign book about Balin's expedition that is buildt on the same principles as Darkening of Mirkwood, give me a region book that covers Moria and Lorien, with rules for delving and new monsters and treasures and give me beautyful maps. And you'd have the product of the decade.
