Zed's Magic Thread

The unique One Ring rules set invites tinkering and secondary creation. Whilst The One Ring works brilliantly as written, we provide this forum for those who want to make their own home-brewed versions of the rules. Note that none of these should be taken as 'official'.

Understood, however that becomes tricky because heart is your normal healing factor as well. I was trying to go for something that would have some sort of trade off to it. Maybe use favoured heart for the temporary points?

If it was a consciouss decision, then leave Body there. In fact, I consider that if something should be changed, it would be the RAW! Having a healthy Body doesn't seem to relate at all with your Endurance or healing rate. I like the link between the "will to go on" and the capability of a hero to endure, but the counterpart is that Body is entirely disregarded.

I like your document a lot! Right now I'm only reading your teaser pages and saying what pops up to my mind. When it's done, I'll copy it to my tablet and read through it with more precision.

And the illustrations are wonderfully choosen.

I think you need to be a bit cautious here; don't design these rules to deal with players that enjoy abusing systems - TOR is full of those exploits already and can be easy to 'beat' in that way. For me, this is fine, as it relies on players to engage a bit more honestly with the system and not try to break, abuse, or min-max the hell out of it.

Understood. I do think that between the Shadow rules and my rules for Eye Awareness/Hope that most 'abuse' cases would be able to be handled fairly easily by the LM. But I am afraid of some synergy thing that I'm missing.

Plus, the Deadly Archery thread proves that you can't please everyone, no matter what.

I'm coming up a page short or so, Warding will take page 11, but I don't really have anything planned for page 12, other than legalese. Anyone have any suggestions? (sorcery is right out. I did think about special undertakings, but I'm not sure any are needed).
