Coming next for The One Ring™
Re: Coming next for The One Ring™
I cannot contain my excitement.

Agree. And I began to think there are many good reasons to release a revised edition: organization (a recurrent critic that damage game reputation), errata and marketing (abandoning the 'Adventures over the edge…' tagline from the 3-core original plan, makes things straight and clear to new users). Adventurer's Companion is a hit, too.SirKicley wrote:I only opposed to the idea if it meant that was the (only) project being released. And if it would hinder the ability of other awesome products being worked on and released. That apparently is not the case, and will be being worked on and released concurrently with other awesome material!!! SO yeah - I'll be obtaining one of those, too!
Recreatividad is my blog in spanish, I write about roleplaying games, specially The One Ring, Mouse Guard, Diaspora and Prince Valiant. You can find custom characters sheets there.
Re: Coming next for The One Ring™
Please don't get rid of any of the existing art in the revised core rules book if you can possibly help it: it's such a huge part of the game for me that I'd hate to see it lost.
(Also, this may be heresy, but if you are going to add art to the new version, I'd much rather see it come from Jon Hodgson or Tomasz Jedruszek than from John Howe. I imagine Howe has a higher profile as one of the "official" Tolkien illustrators from the books and film adaptations, but I'd prefer to have cover art from the game's interior artists, myself.)
Does the move to a single-volume hardcover mean there will be no slipcase (and no dice)? If so, I hope there's a plan to ensure that dice are sold alongside the revised manual: having them come with the game helps remove one possible barrier to adopters. (And reminds me in a pleasant way of old D&D box sets, but I digress.)
Sorry. I'm just rambling with excitement. :)

I'm actually _glad_ it's not till summer because I just bought the boxed set last month. I mean, I'd still buy the hardcover if it came out next month, but I'd feel worse about it....
Rivendell, on the other hand, I want now.

Re-read the OP and still don't see any mention of new weapons. Maybe too small of a detail to include? I mostly want rules for slings, but there are several weapons that would be useful...e.g. staves and hammers.

Any chance poor old Tales From Wilderland will get a hardcover on a reprint?Jon Hodgson wrote:Yes. And you're very welcome.beckett wrote:Wonderful news, Dom! Thanks for sharing.
And a big Thank You for all the hard work Cubicle 7 puts into this line. I have just one question. Will all these releases be in hardcover?

Although not official you can find stats for new weapons from page 47 onwards in my Additional Rules supplement, including slings: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/795 ... 0Rules.pdfElfcrusher wrote:I mostly want rules for slings, but there are several weapons that would be useful...e.g. staves and hammers.

Wow! Unbelievably exciting news. I am so beyond words concerning the one-volume hardcover revised core rulebook. It will need an index...
