TOR versions of AIME's creature abilities & actions?

Post by frodolives » Thu Mar 22, 2018 1:12 am

I really like the creature abilities & actions stuff from the AIME Loremasters Guide (p116-121). Is there a TOR version of these optional creature traits?

I don't have a copy of the AiMe Loremaster's Guide for comparison, but I imagine that that the abilities listed there are pretty similar to the Adversaries Special Abilities listed in The One Ring Roleplaying Game (or in my case, pages 66-68 of the Loremaster's Book). I'll list a quick run-down:
  • Bewilder
  • Commanding Voice
  • Craven
  • Denizen of the Dark
  • Dreadful Spells
  • Fear of Fire
  • Fell Speed
  • Foul Reek
  • Great Leap
  • Great Size
  • Hatred (subject)
  • Hate Sunlight
  • Hideous Toughness
  • Horrible Strength
  • No Quarter
  • Savage Assault
  • Seize Victim
  • Snake-like Speed
  • Strike Fear
  • Thick Hide
  • Thing of Terror
I'm sure that some of these abilities have equivalents in D&D 5e, though the names and details would be different. I assume that AiMe's terminology is much more similar to that of TOR?

The list in AiME is more extensive and contains creature specific abilities designed as add-ons you can use as options. For example, you can give a troll the In the Sack With You ability. I should have mentioned that I also own every TOR book. My question really should have said "Have any fans converted the new AIME abilities to TOR?

I've got all of the books for both lines as well, but I'm converting things the other way (TOR to AME).
Adventure Summaries for my long-running group (currently playing through The Darkening of Mirkwood/Mirkwood Campaign), and the Tale of Years for a second, lower-level group (in the same campaign).

I did take a look of AIME creature abilities, and most of them seem to be quite easy to convert (Big, Bite attack, Call of aid, Clumsy, Coward, Deeply sinister, Desperate, Dirty brawler, Disarming strike, Mewling, Multiattack, poorly armed, Poorly protected, Really big, Screamer, Sneaking, Starving cannibal, Stupid, Tittering laugh, Venomous, War paint, Weakling, Weak willed), some are already there (Gimlet Eyed is just like Denizen of the Dark, Great leap, Hatred).

Rest of the abilities need little bit work (Distraction attack, rubbery skin, Vile, War paint, weak in limb), but it does not seem too hard to do.

Which ones specifically? From glancing at them, most of them exist under a different name in TOR or can be accommodated by making a skill group favoured, lowering the Hate score for a specific instance of a creature, altering the damage slightly for a weapon, etc.
