I hate to break it to you, but only one of those is true (Elfcrusher may have been telling porkies earlier in the thread). I'll let you work out which one ;)

:?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

Where have I read this:
Coming September 17th: Ruins of the North! Come adventure in the former Kingdom of Arnor. Find a Palantir, try out new rules for Dual Wielding and Armor Damage Absorption, and create a hero using the new "Wizard" background.
:?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

Don't tell me it was a joke...

There's also the point that a hardcover book will fit on store shelves more easily than will the (very tall) slipcase: I've been in bookstores that stocked TOR but had it filed away from the other RPGs because it wouldn't fit on the shelf. (And I have to keep my slipcase copies on a shelf for tall items in my gaming room.)

There's a lesson there, "don't listen to anything Elfcrusher posts". But seriously, he isn't an employee of C7 or SG so he shouldn't really have posted something like that without being clear he was having a bit of fun. And unless it's something posted by a C7 employee, you should ignore it and/or ask for proof of the official source/announcement. If that reference can't be provided then whatever the statement being made was you should take it with a pinch of salt.

I know, that was reckless of me. Somebody could have been killed by my "prank".

It's all fun and games until somebody loses an eye.
