Personally I think collating, indexing, and referencing are perfect tasks for fans.
Well, since there is information in Tales that would need to be on the list, and since I have no intention on buying that particular volume (and there will probably be others) are you volunteering? Not trying to smart, but to prove an example where fan indexing and referencing won't work.

1) I might. I already took a crack at indexing all the adversaries (see my .sig)

2) That said, I'm not sure I understand what you are asking: you're not planning on buying Tales, but you want some kind of index to it? Why?

No. Primarily what I am looking for is an ease of reference sheet with the Fellowship Phase Undertakings from the core book and the supplements.

Separate listings of skill, Virtues and Rewards from across the line would be nice as well.

That may not be possible considering the issues with non-hardcopy related PDFs that the line has had in the past. We obviously don't know for certain that this was (or still is the case) but I agree with what Elfcrusher said earlier when he stated that this kind of thing is something that we can all do ourselves for our own games.

So, that specter is still looming in the shadows is it? Pity.

We don't know if it is or not, but Word of the Wise hasn't been reposted so it's possible. As previously stated though, C7 will never disclose the details of their contract so it's all theory and conjecture.

"Word of the Wise" wasn't part of the official release schedule though, was it? IIRC it was only supposed to be a special limited GenCon thing. Wouldn't that be more the reason why it hasn't been reposted. Also, it hasn't been re posted where?

Do we know what the retail price is for the revised book? or will that only be released with the Pre-Order?

Probably won't be mentioned until the pre order goes live. I certainly don't see it being much cheaper then the current core set, however.

Leaving aside questions of licensing, I think C7 would be shooting themselves in the foot to provide this information in a free PDF: the details of the Undertakings, Virtues, and Rewards are part of the incentive for players to buy their books. An index of names and page numbers is one thing: that doesn't step on sales, because players still need the text in order to use those game elements. But to include the mechanics for them, even in summary form, would probably undercut the value of the books in which they're included.

So I wouldn't expect this any more than I'd expect C7 to release a PDF summarising the full rules, or a complete adversary listing (with stats), and for exactly the same reasons.
