We want you for the Fellowship of the One Ring!
Re: We want you for the Fellowship of the One Ring!
I'm really looking forward to this - I guess when it is out, that'll be the time to finally get a new group for TOR together ...
Just startet a topic on it in the German forum Tanelorn:

Re: We want you for the Fellowship of the One Ring!
I'm currently running DoM over on myth-weavers.com (pbp) right now. Currently have 4 players with about as many readers. I have to say that I am surprised that TOR doesn't have more traction over there, but with my schedule I'm doing what I can.

The OP is asking for advice on LMing the game. He critiques/observes some short comings in the game, which I don't really agree with at all, but it may be worth some of us posting to it to give him advice.
By the way, Andrew, should this thread be made a sticky up near the top of the first page for the next few weeks at least?

Re: We want you for the Fellowship of the One Ring!
Actually, I had similar thoughts in the beginning toward TOR that the article writer mentions. I thought that the game was set in a time and place that had very little that was Tolkien going on. I also felt that the Marsh Bell and, at least, the first two adventures in TftW were rather D&D in feel. I originally, asked my self if I were to run a game what would the PCs do? Thankfully, with the release of DoM the game has finally taken a turn toward, though a long distance one, the War of the Ring and now has that Tolkien feel to me...or will once the rules for Gondor and Rohan have been released.
Re: We want you for the Fellowship of the One Ring!
Thanks for spotting that Rich!
Beran - this thread isn't really for the discussion of what you do or don't like about The One Ring. Perhaps you'd like to move that to another thread? This thread is more about helping us to spread the word.

Re: We want you for the Fellowship of the One Ring!
There's a new thread about pacing adventure phases sprung up on rpg.net, if people want to discuss that aspect of the game over there. We'll be doing a post about the Tale of Years/Fellowship phase in the next couple of weeks, I imagine.
