I'm not trying to defend crimso's behavior. We're grown up and whe know that are hard working people behind cubicle7 products. But I guess he, crimso, represents our more anxious/worry side of the delays. Just be patient, folks, and continue home brewing your own stuff for the moment until we have news. I'm pretty sure that the new material will be really awesome and I have the hope that it won't happen again a delay so longer as the actual one. It's not good for the game and the business and I guess cubicle7 is aware of that and the risk of having something cook for so long.

Not really, like Jon said, he was just rude and abusive. Which was completely uncalled for.

Cubicle 7 know that TOR supplements will sell and they are a business so the delays will be based on things out of their control (eg, proof authorisations, printer issues, etc). Licensed products are infamous for these kind of delays and Middle Earth related IP is one of the worst in this regard.

Hi everyone

I can totally understand people wanting new material quicker, but we really need to take the time to do it right (on every level of the project). We can't really say a lot about how things are progressing behind the scenes, but they are moving - The Heart of the Wild should be available to pre-order in the next week, for an August delivery (PDF mid-end July).

You've been so supportive, and your kind words about the game and everything you have created and shared here means so much to us all. I've personally found it wonderful and humbling to see. We are still so excited about The One Ring, and we're all very much committed to it as an ongoing project.

We're also more than happy to receive constructive criticism - it's really important for us to hear that, so that we can improve on what we do. But we don't have to take abusive crap on our own forum, hence the earlier ban.

It's a really interesting issue though, as I think we all probably see that kind of behavior a lot online - it's one of the reasons I don't engage a huge amount online, I'm a bit of an introvert by nature and that kind of 'debate' is not really my style. I value authenticity too, so the troll phenomena just does not compute for me either.

Anyway, it's late and I'm waffling. Long story short, you're all fab, my team is awesome, we all share the goals of keeping the game healthy and expanding in scope, and we are going to have a lot of fun in the Wild and beyond.

The road goes ever on and on, after all.

Thank you Dom, this is wonderful news & we all look forward to another superlative book :D

Thank you - it was Monday.

If by celebrating Hobbit Style that means eating.....? Then YES! Definitely!!
(I don't smoke though. I do however pretend to, when I play TOR and portray my hobbit Dornwise Cottonleaf; I just love that fella)

We went to Cattlemen's Restaurant (which is a very popular and renown steakhouse here in California) and I had 16 oz of prime rib (medium rare) and lobster (steamed not broiled), and whole lot of fixins (tossed green salad with their homemade 1000 island, baked potato slathered in butter and sour cream, Texas style baked beans, Honeyed corn on the cob, half a loaf of fresh baked sour dough bread slathered in butter, ...and a diet coke of course....gotta watch my figure!!!

I have to admit I was pretty darn full when I left....but I WAS eyeballing my mom's beef ribs she was taking home for later.....

I wonder how many bites of Lembas that equates to....

Happy to hear. My wife tells me that she married me cuz I make her laugh every single day.

(it certainly wasn't for my money - or lack thereof).

Funny story - I came to work Monday and my cowokers had decorated my desk. I have two side-by-side monitors for my computer for viewing multiple programs simultaneously. I handle appeals and grievances and state hearings for a major county-based health insurance program here. Now I shared all of that so that I can share this:

Along with all the crepe paper, and balloons, and Happy Bday signs etc all over the place....on my left computer monitor was a page (color printed picture) of gollum/smeagol - the scene where he was in the subterranean water and looking up at Frodo with concern "We must go now" shot. Super-imposed on on the left side of the pic was written.

"I would like to file and expedited complaint because they won't give my precious!"

On the right computer monitor, was a pic of him - hand on his head in disbelief as Sam accuses him of taking the lembas bread, "smeagol hates nasty elven bread" scene. And written on that one was

"No, you must try and fail other rings first before we can consider any other."

(I laughed very hard!)
I think the statuette I have of Smeagol proudly displayed at my work station (the one from the DVD collectors edition), and the fact I always imitate him "My PRECIOUS!" must have tipped them off that I like him a little. Considering he's my favorite character from those books/stories, I'd have to say they were right. :D
