I can totally understand people wanting new material quicker, but we really need to take the time to do it right (on every level of the project). We can't really say a lot about how things are progressing behind the scenes, but they are moving - The Heart of the Wild should be available to pre-order in the next week, for an August delivery (PDF mid-end July).
I am so happy for you guys at Cubicle7 and for all of us that get to buy the book. The fact that you're committed to doing it "right (on every level of the project)" speaks volumes about you and the team. I hope you're able to obtain copies in time for GenCon (even though I can't be there this year

). You guys are all so incredibly talented and pleasant to be around.
Gareth, you write beautifully, but I wonder if we'll ever see another award-winning adventure by you Dom? Please don't be too busy! Life's short. Give yourself some time to write; you're good at it. My favourite battle mechanics are still found in
Words of the Wise during Part 4: The Battle of Woodland Hall. Very simple use of the Eye to add adversaries and the Gandalf rune to trigger peculiar effects from the Magic of Radagast (very creative). Then, the end comes either by defeating all the pre-determined number of orcs, or miraculously when a total of three Gandalf runes are rolled. Very nice.
