The State of The One Ring. Has it Stalled?
Re: The State of The One Ring. Has it Stalled?
Well said, Dom. Encouraging news!
You can bank my cheque -- or whatever they call it in this online world -- as soon as you get a pre-order form up.
Mytholder's the Line Developer... Are you open to, or actively inviting other people to submit material for publication, or is the authoring itself not the bottleneck? (I hope it's not the proofreading! If that's the case I'll volunteer my professionally trained and Middle-earthishly experienced self for a the price of a complimentary copy and a packet of Digestives! )
Cheers,
--Os.
P.S.
I've known Crimso online for years and he's a really decent guy, even if he was out of order just there.

@Sir Kicley. You make me hungry just reading about how you celebrated your birthday
It certainly seems as if you did it up in classic Hobbit style!
Speaking of which, it sounds as if you have some cool colleagues who realize what a hopeless Tolkien fanatic you are (said from one to another). This is, of course, a good thing.

@Osric, your generous offer to C7 caught my attention & I read your AP links. The story you wrote of your adventures is a great read.

I am so happy for you guys at Cubicle7 and for all of us that get to buy the book. The fact that you're committed to doing it "right (on every level of the project)" speaks volumes about you and the team. I hope you're able to obtain copies in time for GenCon (even though I can't be there this year ). You guys are all so incredibly talented and pleasant to be around.Dom wrote: I can totally understand people wanting new material quicker, but we really need to take the time to do it right (on every level of the project). We can't really say a lot about how things are progressing behind the scenes, but they are moving - The Heart of the Wild should be available to pre-order in the next week, for an August delivery (PDF mid-end July).
Gareth, you write beautifully, but I wonder if we'll ever see another award-winning adventure by you Dom? Please don't be too busy! Life's short. Give yourself some time to write; you're good at it. My favourite battle mechanics are still found in Words of the Wise during Part 4: The Battle of Woodland Hall. Very simple use of the Eye to add adversaries and the Gandalf rune to trigger peculiar effects from the Magic of Radagast (very creative). Then, the end comes either by defeating all the pre-determined number of orcs, or miraculously when a total of three Gandalf runes are rolled. Very nice.

I did write a long boring email about how I love your products, your the best licence holder ever, though I was becoming very frustrated with lack of updates and teasers.
I have instead gone for this....

Fantastic! An expanded bestiary contains a host of strange creatures and servants of the Enemy, from the beasts of the forest to the fabled Great Spiders. Variant Cultural Backgrounds like River Hobbits or Wayward Elves offer new options for adventurers…
Recreatividad is my blog in spanish, I write about roleplaying games, specially The One Ring, Mouse Guard, Diaspora and Prince Valiant. You can find custom characters sheets there.

Great news! Just pre-ordered it.
...and I definitely agree, this is the best ME rpg of all time, and I loved MERP when it was about.
If we could get mini-pdf stuff (short adventures, mini-guides, whatever) in-between the main releases, that may ease the long waits. Only asking!
