What I would like to see in future rules

Post by buddhax » Wed May 21, 2014 3:13 pm

Just as an excercise of feedback, I was thinking to write a list we would like to see in future suplements. I know some of these are already in some fan made documents (BTW, really good ones) but I have the hope that C7 maybe listen of them:

1. More Calling traits. Just one for calling make them reiterative through the characters

2. More options in Wisdom and Valour for each culture and generic

3. Aditional option rules for Combat

4. Better guidelines to reward Advance Points

There are at least two sections in the rules about Advancement points and Francesco has posted on the forum probably a couple more things clarifying the awarding of advancement points in response to queries and he's posted on his blog as well. Short of telling LMs award this number of APs for succeeding at a test and this much for succeeding with a great success etc., I don't know how more could be done to make it clearer.

I would like to see:
- more rewards/virtues (so that two adventurers from the same culture actually look different)
- more ways to spend XP (I've already added a few as house rules)
- more adventures written by Mytholder :)

These would be useful. I've house-ruled stuff as well, as has Rocmistro so there's a need for it.

Yeah, damn you Rich. Now that I've shared my special sauce recipe with you, I've been compelled to get in there and finish my damn houserules document once and for all!!! The pressure is on.

Sorry! I really like what I've read though (as discussed on email). I'm certainly using some of it in my game - maybe a few tweaks here and there, to simplify slightly for my tastes, but I think my players will really like the additions.

As I just posted in the sticky, I'd really like to see more colorful and interesting generic Masteries, rather than just +1's here and there. Stuff that changes your gameplay.

I'd be fine with having some rewards/qualities and virtues/masteries having prerequisites. E.g. minimum valour/wisdom.

I'd also like to see one of Rich's house rules become canon: that favoured skills cost 3/level instead of 4.

And Francesco's idea for "parallelism" between Combat, Encounters, and Travel, i.e. that you roll the applicable at the start and then have bonus dice to use wherever you want. That should be canon, too, imo.

LMs can't be expected to go through the forums or blogs for these sorts of clarifications.

Clarifications are really the biggest thing for me, and I'm sure the RE will do a lot to alleviate that. I find that we have some problems around Encounters, simply because the amount of rigidity rules-wise actually ends up fighting against roleplaying.

Also in future rules, I'd like to see the Body attribute become more important.
