New versions of The One Ring rpg books?
Hi, a friend told me that there are apparently new versions of the core (Adventurer's/Loremaster's) books, and as he put it "They are renamed to Guides instead of Books (Adventurers Guide instead of Adventurers Book). They have been editet with better indexing, a bit of content updates and some things have been moved around for the sake of better organisation." is there any truth to this or is he mistaken?

Those are the PDF versions. There's been no news about releasing hard copy versions but personally I'd love to see a hardback version, but not at the expense of new material.

Are the pdfs revised?

Depends what you mean by 'revised'. Names have beenchanged and the index has been improved but other content is the same as far as I can tell.

Re: New versions of The One Ring rpg books?
All I can see is that the word 'Guide' has replaced 'Book' consistently throughout each of the core books. I have not yet taken a good look at the indices to note their exact improvements. I wonder if the good gentlemen from Cubicle7 would be able to comment on any changes and if they could speak to the reasoning behind the name change? That would certainly save us the comparative research. I'm thinking of something like an errata document, where the changes are spelled out with pages numbers attached. If the philosophy behind the name change is something that cannot be talked about due to licensing agreements, a wink would suffice, and this request will go unanswered.

I compared the old and new PDFs and didn't see any changes beyond the consistent replacement of "book" with "guide" throughout.

Any news on that? Have the errata been incorporated?
I personally would love to see a revised book. I don’t really like the separation of Loremaster’s and Player’s Guide. It’s kind of a pain to have to look in two books during combat or travelling, especially since my players never bother to look into the Player’s Book.
Anyway, a revised edition would be welcome.
By the way, I got the PDFs when I bought my hardcopy. Any chance to get my hands on the updated versions without buying them again?
Thanks!

When you log in to your RPGNow account, you should be able to download the revised versions.

I haven’t got the PDF via RPGnow. I ordered my hardcopies at a German online retailer. He sent me the PDFs via Dropbox.

That sounds pretty fishy.Marko wrote:I haven’t got the PDF via RPGnow. I ordered my hardcopies at a German online retailer. He sent me the PDFs via Dropbox.
