Very Very Beautiful! My Hope went up 1 point but I have just been made Temporarily Miserable until I get my copy.

What a gorgeous book! I can't wait for hard copies to arrive. TOR is the game that finally got me into RPGs. I'd always thought they sounded terribly fun, but every time I'd go look through the books for various different systems (after reading glowing reviews), I just couldn't summon excitement to fight monsters and cart home treasure for no reason (unless you created one within the game). Then along comes TOR and I find the game that exactly captures what I was looking for in an RPG: adventuring with a Purpose. (It didn't hurt that my whole family loves reading and re-reading Tolkien). And then of course, once I was hooked on C7's excellent production and customer service I had to get my hands on Yggdrassil and Qin. And when it arrives, Keltia. But TOR stands alone as the Platonic ideal of an RPG that finally made gamers of me and my family. Which is to say: Thank you C7, and thank you to all the experienced gamers on this forum who are so kind and helpful.

That's awesome, Rue. Francesco and all the guys at C7 will get a real buzz reading such a thing. Getting new people into this awesome hobby is the holy grail for RPG makers (well, that and making a decent profit!) and it's great to see it happen and more importantly for people like you to tell us. TOR is setting a very high bar for any other games you end up playing - be forgiving of them!

I'm very jealous of you though; I remember when I first started RPing and it was amazing and exciting and fresh and new. It's still great but those first steps into this hobby were mindblowing.

It's pretty hot in here, my eyes are sweating just a little bit.
Glad you're enjoying our work, Rue, I'll make sure everyone involved gets to read your kind words.

Have we got a ship date yet? Or is this being held for a GENCON release?

We're not holding anything for a GenCon release. As Jon said, it's on a boat and we can't be any more precise than that until it docks. We'll update you as soon as we know more.

Oh my god it is so beautiful. You guys are seriously making me consider buying it although being a student I can't justify that purchase while I have the original core lol.
Of Finarfin's children I am the last. But my heart is still proud. What wrong did the golden house of Finarfin do that I should ask the pardon of the Valar, or be content with an isle in the sea whose native land was Aman the Blessed? Here I am mightier.

Well, was quite fortunate that you WERE able to get a quantity of books together for the good people who were able to make it to GenCon. Any news on copies for those of us who paid for them months ago?

There's an update in the thread right below this one:
The warehouse are processing them as I type. Might be something of a longer delay than usual on pre-order turnaround as a LOT of stock goes in and out of the warehouse over the Gencon week, and we'd rather the warehouse got it right than did it super fast alongside everything else.
As soon as we have confirmation that copies are being received around the US we'll let you know!
