'Macclesfield' and 'beautiful' used together! The One Ring certainly refreshes the parts other RPGs cannot reach! :D

Anyone in the US received their copy, yet?

I have had a taste of it via the PDF, but am suffering from withdrawal for want of the physical copy. I know a bit of how Gollum felt...

I wantss it. I wantss it.

Got mine on Friday, NW England here :)
It's gorgeous!

And I am so looking forward to all the stuff previously and recently announced.

Yep, they went out a few weeks ago so you should have had it by now.

Yeah, I've got it... but I kept it in the box, and haven't opened it yet. (Long story, but true. It will get opened in a couple of weeks).

Rivendell Pre-order

Post by robbmiller » Sat Dec 13, 2014 1:08 pm

I am new to One Ring and C7 products and am not sure what to expect. I received my Core Rule Book as hard back and my Wilderland book is in paperback format.

I pre-ordered my Rivendell book quite sometime ago from amazon. Originally it stated it was a hardcover with the the release date to be 19 November 2014. That date has long past. Recently, the description on the Amazon web-page was changed to indicate the book I ordered was in the paperback format and now states:

Estimated delivery date:
Monday, February 2, 2015

Is C7 planning a paperback release? Here is the ISBN of the book I Rivendell book I ordered:

ISBN-10: 0857441353
ISBN-13: 978-0857441355

If this is a paperback release, I will cancel and look for the hard cover.

I have also pre-ordered Ruins of the North. This listing has also recently changed to paperback format.

Estimated delivery date:
Friday, February 27, 2015

ISBN-10: 085744249X
ISBN-13: 978-0857442499

Can someone that has received these please check their ISBN numbers?

That's fine. "Tales..." is in paperback format as it was released before C7 moved to a hardback release model.

Amazon often 'make shit up' when it comes to products, especially RPGs, which is why many of us simply don't order things from them - despite their often big discounts. Rivendell is hardback and there is no paperback release of it being published so *if/when* you get your copy of it from them it will be hardback. If you actually get it anytime soon though is a completely different matter as people often wait months after an RPG is released when pre-ordering it through Amazon to get their copy of it.

... And another example of Amazon simply making stuff up about a product. Again, this is a hardback publication with no paperback format and no confirmation of an actual hard release date by C7 (as of yet). I actually would prefer "Ruins..." to be paperback though as I think adventure anthologies work better as such and it would then 'match' "Tales..." as well.

Personally, I wouldn't shop with Amazon, for a great many things but especially RPGs and for a number of social and business related reasons. If you could find a way to support a local gaming shop or C7 direct then I'd recommend that you do. Among other things, if you support C7 direct (or a shop signed up to the Bits and Mortar scheme) you also get a pdf as well as the hard copy version *and* if you buy from C7 all your money goes to them; the people that have actually made the game.

Thanks for the information.

Unfortunately, I have no local game shop here. I ordered the first four books online from a shop that has a physical presence but they are not offering the new releases. Nor did I receive an access code to the .pdfs.

I can see your point about dealing with C7 directly, but am not sure that would help them attain wider distribution. Maybe that is not what they are looking for. I love the quality of the products I have received and am willing to support any distribution model C7 establishes.
