Use for hate points with no abilities?

Some Loremaster characters, like Faron the Trapper in Kin-strife and Dark Tidings, have hate points, although they have no special abilities. Can they use them for anything?

Don't forget that when an adversary reaches zero Hate they become Wearied. An opponent may not have any abilities which require Hate to activate but they do provide that buffer to a significant in-game penalty.

The discussion is still worth having, but Faron has snake like speed. I gave him Hideous Toughness too, made a good end opponent while keeping Valter alive.
