I guess I can come out of my self imposed NDA and say that me and my gaming group play-tested this a couple of months ago. It's an excellent little game and we had a real blast playing this. I 'GMed' it, adjudicating rules and taking play test notes whilst my mates Rick, Colin, Vinny, and Neil actually played it. It was interesting how each player would use the cards in a very different way and they supported various styles of storytelling rather than dictating any kind of tone of voice or approach. There were some fun moments and we all had a really good time which shows how great a little game this is as around half the group finds these types of games difficult to play (myself included).

@RichH. This is so odd - I was just sitting here wondering where you've been lately. Just rechecked and saw a half-dozen threads had responses to them and voila! It's you, catching up! :)

Been working in London all week so didn't bother to take my laptop due to the long hours. I work away from home anyway, staying in a hotel, but usually I'm still connected. So, yeah, just catching up now after running my weekly TOR game!

Ah - well that explains it. Well welcome back.

And after you get some R&R post-trip, I got a big post for you to sift through on the Balthi thread.

Robert

NOTE : R&R means reading and reading the Heart of Wild PDF.

I'm out of here (work) in one hour, and then a good friend is picking me up and driving 75 minute drive to go player Pathfinder RPG where I use to live at the home of my dearest friend who's hosting for the evening. That'll put me home about 2AM my time - just enough time to get in an hour or so of Oblivion Elder Scrolls on the PS3 before crashing myself.

I'm then gone all day to San Francisco all day with the family tomorrow for fun at the bay, but when I return home Saturday evening I intend to buy the Heart of Wild myself and begin reading the PDF either then or Sunday.

Get some sleep
Robert

I sort of remember seeing a game similar to this at GenCon a couple years ago, although that game was a generic storytelling game, not tied to Middle earth. I described it to my granddaughter, who I am always trying to get interested in games, and she actually said it might be fun. This is something to look forward to.

Rich H, did you try it as an addon to The One Ring? In wich way is meaningful to the RPG experience? Please share some general impressions, if possible. We respect C7's own marketing agenda and their dates to reveal more information.
Recreatividad is my blog in spanish, I write about roleplaying games, specially The One Ring, Mouse Guard, Diaspora and Prince Valiant. You can find custom characters sheets there.
