Dragonmeet, UK (Sat 6th December)

Post by Rich H » Thu Nov 13, 2014 10:13 pm

http://www.dragonmeet.co.uk/

It's nearer than I thought it was (only 4 weekends away) so thought I'd ask whether anyone here is going as we often mention on discussions here how we'd like to get together and chat face-to-face.

... I know C7 are going to be there too but could organise to meet some time during the day and maybe have a drink and chat? Anyone?

I'll be there running a RQ6 game and maybe one of the C7 games as well as my One Ring game went down well last year.

Saw this post and thought "why not". Been lurking on the forums for ages to pick up tips as I LM the game for our group. Only 30mins from London so not exactly difficult to get to.

The tragedy of being the "resident Tolkienite" in the group is that you never actually get to play yourself! So this would give me a chance to actually play a character and pick up some tips from more experienced LMs! What's the etiquette on these sort of games - bring a character you've designed or play a pre-gen?

Most con games offer pre-gens to do away with time spent doing char gen and not gaming in a four-hour time slot. The only exception I'm aware of is the 'Living' games (Pathfinder, D&D etc) which allow you to bring your own character.

When I offer a game there's generally six player slots and maybe 8 pre-gens for the players to pick from. In the TOR game I ran last year at Dragonmeet it was an all dwarf company but I had a couple of Woodwomen on hand just in case someone didn't want to play a (male) dwarf.

Currently I only have a RQ6 game scheduled, the TOR game seems to have disappeared off the list. I'll see if I can't get it put back up before the con.

I'm running a game there with up to six pregenerated characters. It's primarily for beginners but people are welcome to play.

I'd like to play if at all possible, beginner or whatever. My main motivation is to see it from the other side of the table!

No problem. I hope to run it a couple of times on the day.

After surviving Lucca Comics & Games around here, I don't think I'll have the funds to come to Dragonmeet too, but you'll never know it's just a couple of days after my birthday.

... Sorry about the late reply, real life gets in the way a lot now.

I actually meant just to meet up and say 'hello' rather than organise a game. Those playing or running this Saturday - I may come searching for you!
