Releases at the end of the year?

Post by Ferretz » Thu Dec 11, 2014 3:29 pm

Hello folks,

I hesitate to ask, expecting the regular (and quite understandable) answer from the excellent folks at C7, but are there any news on the upcoming releases? The year is drawing to a close, but there are still two releases listed for autumn.

And I think we're all very curious about what we can expect in 2015. Maybe, as a holiday present to us loyal and eager fans, could we see some teasers? :)

Cheers,

Eirik

You shoud use this sentence as your forum signature to make your life easier :-D

And I have conflicted feelings about a new release... On one hand I would pay for any new PDF in an instant... on the other hand Steam sale is coming... :-D

I am disappointed that no one was keeping an eye on the website yesterday.

But the next round of additions to the release schedule are up now! :)

Please note we've taken dates off the release schedule. The reasoning for this is simple - we're working on several titles in parallel at all times now. So recently Rohan leap-frogged the crunch-heavier Adventurer's Companion in progress. That creates problems for a list that runs in chronological order. We're sure you don't want us to hold on to finished titles to meet an arbitrary release order!

We also don't want to have to keep taking time out of actually producing TOR titles to either update a release schedule subject to continual change, nor to be beaten over the head with dates that at best can only ever be projections.

The way we work on TOR means we work on a title until it's right to release. We don't allow (say) 3 months then print a supplement, in whatever state it is in. We polish them up until they are ready for release, then release them. This is why TOR supplements have the quality they do. We realise this can be frustrating, and we do take heart from the amount of requests of "Are we nearly there yet?". But we can't let those take time away from producing the game we all love. And so the dates are gone.

As you can see we have some really exciting things coming up, as well as some more that we're not yet ready to reveal. We're very much looking forward to sharing more information with you as we are able to do so!

All that stuff is for the far future - we are waiting for the Ruins of the North preorder! :-D

(We understand the situation perfectly by the way I think - but hard to control the enthusiasm!)

And honestly we dig the enthusiasm and the humour. We share it!

We also want to be abundantly clear about it too, so there's no misunderstandings.

Well, I could definitely think up things worse than hordes of fans pounding on your head crying for the opportunity to give you some money for your hard work!
