EDIT: WAIT! In Calvin & Hobbes, Hobbes was Calvin's stuffed tiger who he imagined was real. Does this mean that Gandalf is Bilbo's imaginary friend?

After all if Calvin's daughter inherited Hobbes it stand to reason that Frodo inherited Gandalf :p
