Thus it would seem that "Morgul" is a broadly applicable prefix, and it is within canon to use it in many ways, mostly ominous or evil. E.g. Morgul-sickness, Morgul-troll, Morgul-taxes, Morgul-kitchenspam, Morgul-dualwielding, and...yes...Morgul-blade would all be appropriate.

And I would be more than happy if you would do soRich H wrote:Michebugio, would you like me to pdf this for you at all? Happy to do so.

Although I would say this is a 0.9 version, some stuff needs a re-doing and playtesting.
Feel free to add it to your already great collection by the way, just put credits in it

Okay, just PM me with the text when you're done. Regarding credits, when I do something like this for someone, I just list you as the author and do it as a separate PDF.Michebugio wrote:And I would be more than happy if you would do soRich H wrote:Michebugio, would you like me to pdf this for you at all? If shadow is not accumulated in orc PCs
what would the mechanic be for them to become susceptible to a bout of madness?
being at zero hate doesnt sound right.
what circumstance would trigger a bout of madness?
if a Gandalf was rolled? would this not be too frequent.
the bout of madness brings to my mind the incident after Frodo is paralysed by Shelob, the orcs take his body to their tower and they kill each other over the mithril shirt.

They are simply not subject to bouts of madness, as they are already prone to their lowest instincts.kimbo wrote:If shadow is not accumulated in orc PCs

In my rules, all the orcs have the Murderous Flaw: this means that for them, killing somebody to obtain what they want is natural. Then they have another Flaw based on their Calling.
The Flaws still work as in the RAW, so an Orc who wants to obtain that shiny mithril shirt without killing anybody must do so with the usual disadvantages (re-roll and keep the worst result, or failure aggravation, as per the rules for negative Traits). No need for bouts of madness, you're just playing the bad guys here

Yes I see.
Presumably they would still have corruption tests from treasure and such-like: with failure invoking their flaws, as per fight over the mithril shirt.

Re: Orcs of the Misty Mountains - Playable Culture
There could be a bout of happiness, if the orc collects to many "White Points". White points are acquired when the orc fails to murder, torture, lie and steal...
The white points should work in the same way as Shadow points, so that if the orc has as many white points as he has hate, then a Gandalf rune triggers a bout of happiness.
The flaw should then be something crippeling for the orc. Perhaps guilt, second thoughts, regrets, weakness, laziness etc...
I think there should be a mechanic to keep the orc in character, and not be able to act like a normal person...
Cheers

Orc Poison is fine as it is dont forget that someone who is poisoned is also wounded so unless your Orcs are fighting heroic player characters, one hit from a poisoned weapon will generally kill thier adversaries.
