Re: Compiling a TOR FAQ
I dunno if it's as frequently asked as some of these, but the subject of Travel Gear and whether it applies to initial Encumbrance or only on failed Travel checks (with the latter being the forum consensus, more or less) seems to come up with some regularity. Threads can be found here.
There's never been an official answer for this one I've been able to find, either, just for the record...so that'd be nice to have if possible or convenient, too.

The question of Disarmed seems to come up a lot, for example here, and here

Tale of Years for a second, lower-level group (in the same campaign).
Re: Compiling a TOR FAQ
Not exactly a FAQ, but I would find really useful a section with examples of actual play both from player and LM's perspectives- I always seem to get slightly muddled during combat as a LM & frequently forget things from the rules

Re: Compiling a TOR FAQ
Haven't seen this in awhile, but there used to be a lot of questions about how to run social encounters. Examples would be helpful.
Re: Compiling a TOR FAQ
Besides the links to the threads discussing different aspects of the game, I think there could be a list of FAQ and already official answers.
For example:
Dual wielding: It is intentional by the creator of the game not to include rules for dual wielding.
Different house-rules can be found (links).
How do you recover Hope? Is Hope recovered at the end of the Adventuring Phase?: Hope is not recovered at the end of a session or an Adventure Phase. The ways of recovering Hope are (include list).
What happens when a Fatigue Test is failed during a Travel?: The hero increases his Fatigue (not decreases his Endurance!) by 2 if in Summer/Spring or 3 if in Autumn/Winter. This is the Encumbrance of the Travel Gear.
What does exactly the Tolerance number mean? If Tolerance is 1, can the company only fail once before the Encounter ends, or does it end in the second failure?: Tolerance indicates how many failures are "tolerated". If Tolerance is 1, then the first time a skill check is failed nothing happens. The next failure will be the one to end the Encounter.
What happens when Tolerance is exceeded?: It dependes on the Encounter and the relationship between the heroes and the NPC- the company can be kicked away inmediatly, but also the talking can continue, only that the NPC has already made up his mind about the heroes and the final outcome (the number of successes) won't increase or decrease anymore.

Re: Compiling a TOR FAQ
Bit late to the game on this but just wanted to say this is a great idea - we need to be cautious that we don't overawe people with too many links; getting the balance will be critical.
I'm on my phone so browsing the thread and searching links is impossible but a couple of topics that spring to mind are:
1) Invoking Traits and Auto Successes
2) Discussions Regarding the Viability of Armour
3) Personal Hope Recovery and the Fellowship Pool
4) Travel Gear and Encumbrance
Apologies if they have been raised earlier on - not read all the thread.

Re: Compiling a TOR FAQ
I've been trying to figure out how to run encounters with dangerous wild animals (not monsters), especially if a skill check fails to drive them off or otherwise discourage an attack.

Re: Compiling a TOR FAQ
Keeping this one on topic would work really well for me. Time is (always) in short supply, and I'd like to get this done, as I think it'll be really useful for the community.
Thanks for all the suggestions and links so far!

Re: Compiling a TOR FAQ
Looking at the themes that come up, I think there're two different things to be done:
1) FAQ about the rules. Hope recovery or what does Traveling Gear mean are questions that lots of new TOR LMs ask. This ones can mostly be answered in one or two sentences.
2) Recurrent topics. Dual wielding, Armors improvements are things not covered in the rules, but frequently houseruled. But they're not FAQ about the rules. This ones may need links to discussion threads.
